The mutual break up after a long relationship is a strange beast. One of you has the burden of raising the topic, of ripping away that moldy old bandaid, and the other one knows immediately, almost as the first words are out of their partner’s mouth, that This Is It, this is The Discussion. It is a relief, really. It is For The Best, really. And it is, it truly is.
How I Caught Crabs

Just got back from my week out on the left coast. The highlight of the trip was a visit to Gabriola Island, where my GF spent her summers when she was young. Although I did not catch crabs from my GF, it is because of her that I caught as many as I did.

The good news is that all the burners light, crossover, and heat up perfectly. In fact, with them all on high the thing gets so hot that it doesn’t register on the thermometer (that’s over 600�F)!

Even Cuba shames the United States. Sick 9/11 rescue workers taken there by Moore, who can barely afford meager treatment back home, received top-notch care in an enemy territory. At one point, a woman broke down in frustration when she purchased drugs that cost $120 in the US at a Cuban corner pharmacia for 5 cents.

I got my first property tax assessment yesterday. It was for the entire year, and since I only received possession at the end of February, I figured my expense should be pro-rated. When I phoned the number on the invoice, and described my situation, I was forwarded to a woman who answered the phone, “Good afternoon– Tax Assessment and… (BLANK) Office?”
Your job? Guess what other municipal duty the Calgary government decided to pair with Tax Assessment.

I needed a snack today, and found that I had only two options: popcorn and oatmeal. I enjoy both these foods, and in a moment of sheer boredom, I decided to see which one was “better” for me.

So it’s been three months now, and my eyes are getting better all the time. My vision is 20/20, and the haloing effect I had at night is barely noticeable.

The clock came on, but it was off by a couple of hours. I intuitively pushed the “Clock” button, but nothing happened. Hm. Maybe I was doing this wrong. I got out the manual and looked up how to set the time. Step 1: Push the “Clock” button. I pushed the “Clock” button again. The display flashed in red: “CONV BAKE: 350 START?” Whoa. That can’t be good. I pushed “Cancel” and it disappeared.

Once again, here I am ready to write something, and the topic that comes to mind is the new girlfriend. She’s a special model, with all the top-of-the-line sexy, snuggly, healthy, funny, sporty, smarty features you would expect in a high-end female, but none of the judgemental, conceited, neurotic artifacts found in some other premium women with poorer build quality.
